Ciena has announced the appointment of Monika Fahlbusch as Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer. She will report to President and CEO Gary Smith and lead the company's global People & Culture organization.

Fahlbusch brings more than 30 years of global leadership experience, with expertise in human resources, organizational transformation and data-driven talent strategy. Before joining Ciena, she served as Chief People Officer at Epic Games. Earlier in her career, she held senior leadership roles at BMC Software, Salesforce and PeopleSoft, with responsibilities spanning employee experience and global talent management.
