Murphy Oil Corporation (NYSE: MUR) announced the appointment of Michol L. Ecklund as Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary. She will join the Executive Leadership Team and report directly to President and CEO Eric M. Hambly.

Ecklund holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rice University and a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School.

Most recently, she served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Anew Climate, where she led the legal, marketing and policy functions. Prior to that, she was with Callon Petroleum Company, where she served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Before joining Callon, she held senior legal roles at Callon Petroleum and Marathon Oil Corporation. She began her career at Baker Botts L.L.P. in Houston.

In her new role, Ecklund will oversee Murphy's legal, compliance, governance, government affairs, land, sustainability and risk management functions.
