British Arab Commercial Bank (BACB) has announced the appointment of Damian Austin as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Austin was promoted to Chief Banking Officer in April 2023, and served as Acting CEO following the departure of former CEO Paul Jennings in May 2026.

Austin brings more than 25 years of banking experience. Having started his career at BACB in the 1990s, he went on to hold senior positions at HSBC, Barclays and Bank ABC. Before rejoining BACB, he served as Interim European Head of Wholesale Banking and European Head of Global Transaction Banking at Bank ABC.

In 2025, BACB supported over £4 billion in trade finance transactions across 42 markets. As BACB accelerates its modernization and regional expansion, Austin's deep understanding of the bank's business and his cross-institutional, global perspective will support this next phase of growth.
